Instructional Strategies

The most challenging part of this design exercise will be to generate a storyboard that summarizes the instructional strategies and materials in the learning aid, as well as the sequence of instructional events available to a user browsing the learning aid.

As an organizational framework, I'd like you to apply what you have learned in this course about designing effective learning environments. I am especially interested in designs that build authenticity into the learning aid through the use of relevant cases, specific and believable scenarios that closely approximate professional applications of the targeted skills.

You are encouraged to design instructional strategies that are consistent with the emerging theories so heavily emphasized in our texts, especially constructivism, situated cognition, distributed cognition, cognitive flexibility, instructional ecology, sociocultural, connectionism, and so on.

To be consistent with the fundamental principles of Instructional Design, I would recommend that your team brainstorm possible instructional strategies first, then cluster them by relevant themes, and finally align them to appropriate performance objectives.

Assume that you could create or have access to any of the following instructional materials

1) text objects
2) static graphic images (including screenshots)
3) dynamic graphic images (including screenmovies)
4) narrated and musical soundtracks
5) web links
6) digital videos
7) sample presentations
8) web database
9) web pages
10) ...what else?????
