Purpose
It is sometimes necessary to upload one or more files to a remote server. For example, when publishing a website or deploying a web application, the code for the site might be developed locally but deployed remotely. Frequently, the remote server supports the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), which is a Secure Shell (SSH) protocol that allows for encrypted transfers. A client-side application like FileZilla can be used to send files to a remote server via SFTP.
Adding SFTP support to TealFiler would enable such files to be transferred without having to install FileZilla. There are several ways to add this support, including using the Python-native Paramiko library or mounting the remote server via sshfs.
Scope of Work
Add SFTP support to TealFiler, so that files can be transferred between a local system and a remote server easily. Also add settings to configure SFTP parameters (such as security keys or passwords) and save SFTP connection information. Ensure that the method of SFTP support is an optional dependency so that TealFiler will continue to work even if Paramiko or sshfs is not installed on the system.
