Purpose
In academic writing, we frequently cite sources of information and list our citations in the References section of a document. The TealSite static site generator is able to format references using a directory of files as a source of bibliographic information. An author using TealSite only needs to refer to the unique identifier of a source (and an optional page number) in order to generate both the inline citation and the reference entry.
At the moment, TealSite ingests bibliographic data using either the RIS or PubMed tagged formats. To get data in these formats, an author must either find online downloads, write the tagged files by hand, or export the data from an existing citation manager. A lightweight, offline application that can store references in these formats would be helpful.
Scope of Work
Create a lightweight bibliography/citation manager using Python and Qt for Python (PySide6). This is a greenfield project with no existing code, so the scope includes making design and user interface decisions.
