Overview
For the CSCI 490 Course Reflection, you will document your achievements using the provided worksheet. Parts of this process are designed to mimic the annual performance reviews that you will be doing professionally in your future career. To complete the reflection, you will look back at all 5 Sprints to document what you accomplished this semester. You will document the challenges you experienced in this course, both internal and external. One way to assess how well you understand something is to think about what you still don’t know, so you will consider areas of possible future study. Finally, you’ll propose your course grade.
Grade Guidelines
For CSCI 490, use the following general guidelines to help you propose a course grade:
- For a course grade of A:
- You must have made a substantial contribution that resulted in measurable artifacts for each Sprint.
- Your contributions must have been high quality and significant, advancing the state of the application on which you worked.
- Your Course Reflection document must be complete, with all worksheet items fully answered.
- Generally speaking, a course grade of A implies overcoming internal and external challenges to get things finished.
- For a course grade of B or B+:
- You must have made a substantial contribution that resulted in measurable artifacts for least 4 of the 5 Sprints.
- Your contributions must have been high quality and significant, advancing the state of the application on which you worked.
- The difference between a B and a B+ would largely depend on what you accomplished during the 5th Sprint (the one where you didn't make a substantial contribution resulting in measurable artifacts).
- For a course grade of C or C+:
- You must have made a contribution that resulted in measurable artifacts for least 3 of the 5 Sprints.
- Your contributions must have advanced the application on which you worked.
- The difference between a C and a C+ depends on your overall accomplishments and the quality of the contributions you did make.
- For a course grade below C:
- A grade of D+ is appropriate if you made a substantial contribution to the project but were not consistent with the Sprints. The contribution must have advanced the state of the application.
- A grade of D is appropriate if you made a contribution that resulted in measurable artifacts on one or more Sprints, but your contribution(s) did not meaningfully advance the state of the application.
- A grade of F will be assigned if you did not participate in the required group project or fail to submit a Course Reflection.
