My research is mainly in finite group theory and related areas such as computational representation theory.  A specialty is constructing basic algebras Morita equivalent to group algebras of sporadic groups over finite fields. I have written programs using the software packages GAP and the C-MeatAxe for constructing basic algebras. These programs are available as a GAP package [gzipped tar file or zoo]. README will tell you how to install my GAP package assuming you already have GAP running.
I have constructed the Ext-quiver of S3 in characteristic 2. This example outlines the process using the C-MeatAxe. The example assumes that you have downloaded and installed the C-MeatAxe. Familiarity with the C-MeatAxe would be helpful but is not required.
I have applied the above method to many groups to construct their basic algebras. This information has been collected on my Basic Algebras page. A new version of my basic algebra repository is being constructed.
My dissertation, "Constructing Basic Algebras for the Principal Block of Sporadic Simple Groups", is available in pdf format.
My Curriculum Vita is available in PDF format as well.
