Virtue Trap was formed in the fall of 2000 by four professors at Coastal Carolina University. Four years and three lineups later, the band still consists of Coastal Faculty and remains dedicated to playing distinctive rock covers, blues, and high-quality (if we do say so ourselves) original music. Somewhere along the way the gimmick of being a bunch of profs who happen to play music was replaced by the gimmick of being a bunch of guys who play music who happen to be profs. But that isn't really a gimmick is it? And even if it was a gimmick, the Oxford English Dictionary tells us that "Gimmick" comes from "gimac," an anagram of the word "magic." So come on out and see...well...our magic.
