Directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Angelina Jolie, The Changeling is a compelling story based on true life events.
In 1928, a kidnapping of a young boy, Walter Collins, (played by Gattlin Griffith) occurred in Los Angeles. The event attracted nationwide attention when a radio preacher, (John Malkovich), uses the situation for his own platform agenda against the supposedly corrupt LAPD.
Ultimately, when the boy is found a few months later, the mother, Christine Collins, played by Jolie, is dumbfounded to find it is not her child they have delivered to her. A reluctant police investigation ensues at the relentless urging of Christine and the truth begins to unravel.
Under the multi-winning Oscar direction of Clint Eastwood, The Changeling proves to be another engrossing and well developed film. Oscar winner, Malkovich, delivers a powerful performance as the radio evangelist that takes on the LAPD but it is Academy Award winner, Angelina Jolie that truly carries the movie as the distraught but determined mother who will stop at nothing to find her child and bring about justice for others in her situation.
