This glossary is not a complete concordance, but it contains words occurring in the Exposition the forms and meanings of which are not easily recognizable. In general, if a word occurs more than twice, only the first instance, followed by "etc.", is cited. Cross references are given for difficult variant spellings. The abbreviation "See n." refers the reader to the Commentary, where the particular word or phrase is discussed. Unusual spellings of proper names have been included. No attempt has been made to record systematically such normal sixteenth-century spelling variants as y for i, i for y, ys for is or es, s for c or c for s, a for t in -cion, en for in, etc., nor is special attention given to the use of i for j, v for initial u, and u for medial v.
