I hold a dual appointment as reference and instruction librarian in Kimbel Library and as Director of Core Curriculum for Coastal Carolina University.
Prior to this I have served as Head of Public Services and over the course of a 28 year career, have worked in government documents, audiovisual materials, reference, instruction, and assessment.
I have published in the areas of library instruction, assessment of instruction, and partnering with faculty for instruction. I have also published in the field of linguistics on metaphor and in 19th century studies.
My current research interests lie in the fields of 19th century studies and the utilization of digital research tools to develop new ways of inquiry, and in the implementation of assessment tools that provide meaningful results for academic programs, including library instruction.
