If you can watch this movie and NOT have a good time, then there is truly something wrong with you! I know, because there is truly something wrong with me, and EVEN I have a good time watching this movie.
Favorite character: Eddie, of course (sings good and tastes good, too--played by Meatloaf). Favorite song: Over At the Frankenstein Place. No, not Time Warp. Let me tell you why, and at the same time show you just how disturbed I am. The song is sung by Brad and Janet (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon), two of the most goodie-two-shoes characters it's possible to stomach, and the song is an optimistic, "everything is going to turn out just fine," sop to the basic goodness of life and people. And if you know the movie, you know everything ain't gonna turn out just fine. These people and their tidy little world are so screwed! I love it! The irony is thick enough to cut with a fork. It's what I would wish for every sappy, optimistic pinhead on the planet. Now you know. |
