-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Family Group Sheet for: Mathias KING (1734-1807) and Eva Christina Hartzell -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Husband: Mathias King (Koenig) parents: Johan Adam Koenig and Maria Magdelena Keyser of Wuerttemberg, Germany born: 13 May 1724 or 1734 in Germany died: 1807 or 31 July 1810, Mt. Pleasant Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA buried: Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland Co., PA notes: "On 7 October 1751, the ship Janet, William Cunningham, Captain, arrived at Philadelphia from Rotterdam, last from Cowes. There were on board this vessel two hundred and twenty passengers of whom three bore the family name of Konig (King). Their names were Abraham Konig, Jacob Konig, and Matheus Konig. "It is impossible to state definitely what relationship existed between these three persons... Jacob Konig and Matheus Konig bought and lived on adjoining farms; they were sponsors on several occasions at the baptisms of each other's children, and Jacob named his firstborn after his brother Matheus." Wilbur Lewis King, pp.4-5. Several online databases make Abraham the father of Matheus and Jacob, as did Wilbur L. King, however, this has turned out not to be the case. It is also not clear that Matheus and Jacob were brothers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- marriage: 11 November 1753, Blue Church, Northampton Co., PA -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wife: Eva Anna Christina Hartzell parents: Hans George Hartzel and Catherine Schmetzer born: 28 January 1738/39, Lower Saucon Twp., Bucks Co., PA died: abt. 1810, Westmoreland Co., PA buried: Westmoreland Co., PA notes: From the evidence of the census, she was still alive in 1800.
