"Mr. Robert King a prominent citizen of Huntingdon, died suddenly of paralysis,
on Monday last."

Note: 10 January was a Friday, so "Monday last" was 6 January.

The (Lawrence) Guardian, 18 February 1873, page 3

"The funeral of Mr. John S. King, which took place on Tuesday last, was largely
attended by members of the I.O.O.F. and Lawrence Guards, headed by the 
Mechanic's Band."

Note: 18 February was a Tuesday, so "Tuesday last" was 11 February.

"John S. King, who formerly resided on Pittsburgh street, this city, died
recently at the home of his son, Walter King, Franklin."

Note: This was John King, husband of Elizabeth Piper, who survived him and
died in Nortonville, KS, 1909.  Children: Leroy Porter King, Othello Walter
King, Eva May King.
