Previous Pass/Fail Percentages

The main purpose of this page is to encourage students to work hard from the very beginning of the semester.  It is common knowledge that in most mathematics courses, each class is based on the material covered in the previous classes.  The percentages below support this theory.  A secondary purpose for displaying the information below is that one of the goals of the Department of Mathematics/Statistics is to raise the percentage of students who receive a C or better in Math 160 to 75%.  With that said, you can expect that exam 1 as well as the other exams will be of the same caliber as their respective sample exams on the Previous Exams page.  Notice we said the same caliber not similar!  Thus students can use these sample exams as one of their tools to prepare for upcoming exams throughout the semester. Since it is important to make a 68 or higher on exam 1 we encourage students to visit our office hours early in the semester and often. We also encourage visiting Mathematics Learning Center located in Prince 209.

The following table provides the percentage of students that received a D+ or lower in Math 160.
