This is a sample of some of the recommendations I've received from some valued colleagues.

No. 1

I have known Jean French for approximately 5 years in several capacities.
First as a colleague at Nova Southeaster University, next as an adjunct instructor for one of the courses in my Graduate Program at Champlain College, and finally as a friend.

As a colleague at Nova, I know she approached her work with fervor, and succeeded academically in every capacity.  She loves a challenge, and most of all, loves to learn.  Implementing and passing this learning on to others is a strength that she possesses.

In our numerous conversations over the years, it was quite obvious that she was an exceptional instructor particularly in a distant learning environment.  As a result of her exceptional teaching qualities, she taught
2 sections of a master's level Knowledge Management course in my program at Champlain College.  I needed someone to raise the bar on the class.  Someone who would provide the proper learning environment for my / our students.
Jean French was there to help me in my endeavor.  She runs an exceptional distance education course, is highly student-oriented, and is well versed in the content.  Her IDEA evaluations were exceptional.

Finally, as a friend, Jean is an exceptional person who is always willing to help out, and provide advice and input when needed.

I highly recommend her for any teaching position especially where course quality is of primary concern.

No. 2

I am enthusiastic to recommend Jean French as a faculty member in Department of Computer Science.  I have know and worked with her since 2000 through my duties as the Systems Administrator and member of the ITS Department here at Coastal Carolina University.  During the time when she was with the ITS Department, both as an IRC and as a web designer/manager, I found that her work was exemplary, as evidenced by her nomination for Staff Employee of the year. Her work habits should be a model for other members of the CCU community.

In her tenure as Webmaster, she developed an excellent working relationship with all other departments at the university. She encouraged the use of dynamic pages and helped to perfect the survey system and forms system that are now a staple of our website.  Jean has helped to teach and develop student workers into productive web developers in their own right. We were extremely sorry to see her leave ITS, but knew that pursing her PhD was of tantamount importance to her. We even continued to use her as a contract employee for parts of the website.

When she began teaching, we all knew that she was going to be a natural. She has a personal rapport with her students and a professional style all her own for getting the subject matter through to them that is most commendable. I also have noted that she exercises great preparation habits for all of her endeavors.

That being said, I would highly recommend her for the position of full time faculty member on the Computer Science Department her e at Coastal Carolina University. I truly believe that adding her would be as asset to the Department as well as the University.

Thank you for the opportunity to send this recommendation. If there is anything else that I need or can do, please do not hesitate to call.
