This page shows pictures during the Introduction to Computer Science Laboratory. Most of the students are also co-enrolled in the lecture course. The curriculum included a number of "Action Labs" where students gained hands-on experience in different topics.
Google Action Lab:
Students explored the different features of Google from Google Scholar to Google Labs. Google Earth was a favorite of the students. Students shared their opinions on each of the features reviewed.
RFID Action Lab:
Students learned about RFID-related topics and interacted with RFID tags and readers.
Hardware Action Lab:
Students disassembled and assembled computers during lab to learn about hardware.
Unix Action Lab:
Students learned command-line UNIX including using basic commands, using pine, and vi.
Networking Action Lab:
Students explored topics related to networking. The lab included topics such as IPCONFIG, PING, and TRACERT.
Classroom atmosphere:
Lab classes include lecture, individual study, and collaboration. Students are encouraged to support each other in the learning process.
