Welcome to Righteous Beats! Music enthusiasts should find this website more and more helpful as it comes together, because we love music too! On this website you will find loops for use in your digital audio creations, as well as full tracks we've created to demonstrate how we've put our loops together along with live recording.
Project Summary: This is an HTML project by Ian McDougal, a Computer Science Major at Coastal Carolina University. He decided to collaborate with his cousin Will to create an online resource for fellow audiophiles looking for new loops to put in their audio projects. The cousins record music on the side, and are taking this opportunity to try to gain recognition for our work, both in loops and full tracks.
Equipment:The following lists describe as well as display the many different digital and analog equipment we use in our recording.
Base effects and processors:
Cubase SX 3 by Steinberg. This program utilizes a unique graphic interface with a digital mixer and meters that can record audio directly, or accept MIDI input from other devices.
Wavelab 5 by Steinberg. This program is similar to Cubase, however, it is used for mixing down tracks with final overall effects and volume leveling.
Reason 3 and 4 by Propellerhead Labs. A MIDI sequencer that includes Thor, a multi-synthesis synthesizer with six oscillator types, four different filters, a step sequencer and a modulation matrix. Fully routable. Fully automatable. Fully everything; RPG-8, a monophonic arpeggiator with multiple play modes, an insert function and a pattern section; and Re-Groove Mixer, a realtime, 32-channel timing and groove handling mixer. Applies non-destructive, freely editable grooves to Reason's sequencer tracks.

Guitar Rig 2. This software takes the line in and modulates a variety of amps, cabinets, effects, pedals, and microphones.
M-Audio Radium 61 MIDI keyboard. This 5-octave keyboard combines 16 controllers that can be mapped to any MIDI-assignable parameters in your hardware and software rig. The complement of eight MIDI-assignable sliders are ideal for mixing with virtual faders, while the eight MIDI-assignable knobs are great for tasks like panning and effects send-and both are great for real-time performance control of synth parameters. And Radium61 weighs in at a mere 7 pounds.

The analog amplifiers we use are the Line 6 Flextone II, and a Marshall GS100R Half stack.

The guitars that we play are a Gibson Les Paul Studio and an Ibanez GSA60 respectively to these photos. Both very nice guitars, I prefer the Les Paul as it feels comfortable, and it performs well for live work too.
