President Obama isn’t winning the future, he is losing it. His actions as president are mortgaging the future for younger generations. If something does not change, our country will become bankrupt and the youth of today will be forced to deal with the catastrophic consequences. If we don’t act now, we may become the first generation in American history that has a standard of living lower than our parents.

The U.S. debt is at an unprecedented and unacceptable level. Payments on just the interest for the national debt will be more than $5.5 trillion over the next 10 years. That is $5.5 trillion that won’t be spent on education, roads, police officers or anything the average person would consider productive, but instead will be sent overseas to pay the countries who lent us the money. Does that sound like winning to you?

And it gets better…Obama’s solution to fight the increasing debt and unchecked government spending is to spend more. In the first two years in office, President Obama has racked up $1 trillion in deficits each year. Do you think we deserve to be burdened with a bankrupt country?

If you don’t, stand strong and be heard when the Republican presidential candidates come to your state, city or campus. Go to their events and ask them what their solutions are to the government debt crisis. Let the candidates know that young Americans care about the national debt and the impact it will have on their future. This is a powerful way we can make sure that our Party nominates a candidate who will stand as a clear choice to Obama’s reckless policies and will finally act to solve our nation’s government debt crisis.

With all the challenges our generation faces, truckloads of debt and unchecked government spending should not be included.  Make your voice heard and ensure that there is a strong Republican choice to Obama who will fight to bring spending under control now – and not put the burden of a bankrupt country on our generation’s shoulders.

We hope we can count on your future support as there is much work that remains, but together we can get it done and by doing so, shape a better tomorrow for ourselves and those that come after us.
