United States of America Debt Clock

**Update**
The regular second Wednesday meeting of the month will be a rather important meeting; therefore, plan on attending.

The Coastal Carolina University NAACP club has invited our group to a Healthcare Reform Round Table Discussion on April 27. It is valuable opportunity for our two club’s members to work together as is the history of both organizations, in general, on matters of social and economic challenges we face as citizens of this great nation.

The focus of the meeting on the 21st will be to cover the new law that was passed by the Democrats in the House and Senate with no support from the Republican Party and signed into law by Mr. Obama. With the “repeal the bill” momentum growing across the nation, it is time to reflect what good and bad points that have been raised with the 2,700 page bill that no one read prior to signing into law has presented for the citizens of our Nation.

But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy. Furthermore, we believe that health care reform, again I said at the beginning of my remarks, that we sent the three pillars that the President’s economic stabilization and job creation initiatives were education and innovation—innovation begins in the classroom—clean energy and climate, addressing the climate issues in an innovative way to keep us number one and competitive in the world with the new technology, and the third, first among equals I may say, is health care, health insurance reform.”

Nancey Pelosi – Speaker of the House

The policy of “make it a law” then assess the damage to the Nation, is the wrong way to run anything.

**UPDATE**

We got a message Monday that the forum has been canceled by the NAACP. O well, we will still have our regularly scheduled meeting.
