These are .pdf files. You can read them from any computer if you have Acrobat Reader installed. You can download Acrobat Reader for free if you don't already have it on your computer. I have set it up so my lecture slides will print 6 to a page. Lecture slides will normally be made available here at least one day before we start a new chapter.

Chapter 2 - Chemistry and Chemical Bonds
Chapter 3 - Water
Chapter 4 - Carbon Chemistry

Chapter 6 - Cells - Cell Worksheet
Chapter 7 - Membranes
Chapter 8 - Cellular Metabolism
Chapter 9 - Cellular Respiration
Chapter 10 - Photosynthesis

Chapter 14 - Mendelian Genetics
Chapter 14-15 more genetics/beyond mendel

If you have trouble downloading and viewing the slides at home, try it in a campus computer lab where you can get help (and where the download will be much faster).   E-mail me if you have questions or suggestions.

Ask Dr. Hill

Q: I missed the first two lectures. Did I miss anything important?

A: First thing you want to do is visit this website: 10 things you should never say or do to your professor. The list is from Clemson's excellent college survival skills website. The syllabus I handed out can be downloaded from this page or from blackboard. Take the first blackboard quiz. Check with a classmate for notes on what we covered in the lectures you missed.

Q: I noticed the syllabus didn't have dates when each chapter was due. How do we know when we should read each chapter?

A: Just come to class. I will make clear when we are starting a new chapter, and when you should read ahead.
