From May 21st to June 5th Professors Susan Slavik and Arne Flaten took Coastal students on a tour of Northern Spain. With stops in Barcelona, Montserrat, Pamplona, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Santander, Santillana del Mar, Altamira, Oviedo, Lugo, Santiago de Compostela, Madrid, and Toledo our trip effectively provided an exhilarating survey of many aspects of the western art tradition, from the pre-historic cave paintings at Altamira to the modernist architecture of Antoni Gaudi and Frank Gehry. Students could receive either Art History (499) credit or Art Education (499) credit, or both depending on their projects. CCU students enrolled in the courses were: Rebekah Bohm, Danielle Columbo, Ronda Abofreka, Megan Newett, Sandi Snyder, Katie Reese, Kim Weber, Suzanne Montalbano, Jared Dann, Brad Buckley, William (Petis) Jones, Diane Bucci, Alex Decker, and Janelle Riolo
